San Paolo Albanese is a village of arbëresh people on the slopes of Mount Carnara (1.248 mt. msl) located in the heart of Polli- no National Park. The most validated histo- rical tradition links its origins to events that followed the fall of Constantinople in 1453, more specifically the conquest of the Koroni area by the hand of Suleiman I, the Magnifi- cent, around 1532 AD.
The agro-pastoral exhibition was created in the second half of the 1970s, using the old uninhabited buildings of the historical cen- tre. The Museum of Arbëreshe Culture was founded at the beginning of the ‘90s and, since 2011, it has been set up with themed rooms showing objects of the material cultu- re and documents of the oral, agro-pastoral, and popular culture as testimony to the roots and the identity of the arbëreshe ethnic-lin- guistic minority.
“Il ciclo di trasformazione della ginestra”; “Gli abiti ed i costumi arbëreshë di San Paolo Albanese”; “Gli oggetti della cultura materiale locale”; Mostra “Oggetti dalla memoria”;
Mostra “Zampogne”.
The Museum offers a tour of the exhibitions, from Monday to Sunday:
“The cycle of transformation of the Scotch broom”;“Arbëreshë dresses and costumes of San Paolo Albanese”;“Objects of the local material culture”; “Objects of remembrance”;
